Charles Edwards: born 1 October 1969 (Libra)
Born in Surrey, England, Charles Edwards is best known as a man of the stage. He graduated from London’s Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 1992 and made a name for himself in the theatre, most recently as King George VI in the original stage production of The King’s Speech and in the National and London Globe Theatre’s production of Much Ado About Nothing. He’s acted with Judi Dench a couple times; first in Peter Hall’s 2010 production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream and more recently in Philomena. Offstage, he also acted in Batman Begins and Diana.
Charles Edwards plays Michael Gregson on Downton Abbey, a London Editor of The Sketch magazine. But more importantly, Edwards plays Lady Edith’s love interest and baby daddy. As a self made man on Downton Abbey, he finds it hard to gain acceptance from Edith’s family.
